HONG Kong Eastern remained unbeaten on Sunday, dispatching the Singapore Slingers, 81-77, in the Asean Basketball League at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
Christian Standhardinger had 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks as Hong Kong rolled to their fourth win in as many games.
It was far from his numbers against Mono Vampire -- 40 points and 17 rebounds -- but it was still a big performance ahead of Hong Kong’s first home game of the season, against winless Tanduay Alab Pilipinas on Wednesday.
Tyler Lamb had 30 points and nine rebounds, hitting 4 of 6 attemprs from the 3-point line, while Marcus Elliott had 17 points for Hong Kong Eastern.
The Slingers dropped to 2-3 after keeping the game close in the first quarter, even taking a lead as high as six points in the second period.
Elliott hit a basket to give Hong Kong Eastern a 72-71 lead before dishing out a pass to Standhardinger for a deuce. Lamb hit two charities as the road squad took a 76-71 lead.
Xavier Alexander had 21 points, Ryan Wright added 17 points and 16 rebounds, and AJ Mandani had 13 points for the Slingers.
