    HK Eastern rides Standhardinger double-double to beat Chong Son, seize ABL solo lead

    Christian Standhardinger is having an impressive first season in the ABL.

    CHRISTIAN Standhardinger had 23 points and 13 rebounds as Hong Kong Eastern cemented its hold of first place in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) with an 88-76 win over Chong Son Kung Fu on Tuesday.

    Standhardinger’s double-double led the defending champions to their 11th win in 13 outings after the first meeting between the league's top two teams in the standings.

    Marcus Elliott added 20 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and three steals for Hong Kong, which handed Chong Son its third loss in 12 games.

    San Miguel Alab Pilipinas is right behind Chong Son in third with a 10-4 slate. The top two teams after the end of the 20-game eliminations will advance to the semifinals outright.


      Hong Kong broke open a tight game in the final canto beginning with Elliot and Lee Ki hitting back-to-back triples for a 75-68 lead.

      Tyler Lamb finished with 16 points including back-to-back baskets as Hong Kong took a 79-68 lead with less than four minutes to play in the fourth.

      Anthony Tucker had 25 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while Mikhael McKinney had 17 points for Chong Son.
