    Hong Kong a win away from winning ABL title after thrilling Game 3 win over Slingers

    HONG Kong Eastern moved one victory away from its maiden Asean Basketball League (ABL) crown after a thrilling 76-72 win over the Singapore Slingers on Friday at the OCBC Arena.

    The Long Lions regained homecourt advantage and put themselves on the cusp of winning the championship in their maiden season in the regional league.

    Up 2-1 in the best-of-five series, Hong Kong can finish off the Slingers with a victory in Game Four on Sunday at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

    Marcus Elliot flirted with a triple double for Game Three as he finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for the Long Lions, who lost at home in Game One.

    Former PBA import Josh Boone added 18 points for Hong Kong Eastern.

    Justin Howard contributed 31 points and 23 rebounds, while Xavier Alexander added 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Slingers.

    Fil-Am Josh Urbiztondo finished with three points after going 1-of-6 from behind the arc.
