SAN Miguel outplayed Saigon, 80-55, on Sunday night to tab its fifth straight victory in the Asean Basketball League at the Tan Binh Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Beermen dominated the game from the time they opened a 21-8 lead in the first period as they improved to 8-3 win-loss and kept pace with leaders Indonesia Warriors.
Chris Banchero paced the Beermen with 20 points, while Brian Williams added 16 points and led the team’s defensive stand with 14 rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Justin Williams, fresh from winning the ABL Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday, logged 11 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks in just his second game as a Beermen.
While the Beermen shot 51 percent from the field, the Heat were held to just 35 percent shooting while getting beaten off the boards, 19-39.
Jai Reyes led the Heat with 14 points as his team continued to struggle with a 3-7 win-loss slate.
The Beermen next face the Singapore Slingers on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
