JOSH Urbiztondo is hanging his sneakers for good.
The 36-year-old Fil-Am sniper announced his retirement in a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday and bared that he's settling back in the US with his young family.
"After a long-thought decision and discussing with my wife, I have finally decided to hang 'em up and retire from basketball," he wrote.
Urbiztondo spent the last two seasons with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), helping the Philippine side claim the throne in 2018.
The six-foot guard averaged 5.4 points on a 35-percent clip from downtown, on top of 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 16.3 minutes off the bench as he embraced his role as a the team's reliable veteran in the 2019 ABL season.
Unfortunately, Alab was unable to defend the crown and bowed out at the quarterfinal stage at the hands of Hong Kong Eastern.
Urbiztondo went undrafted in the 2009 PBA Draft, but was picked up by Sta. Lucia where he began making a name for himself as "The Fireball."
He had stops in Air21 and B-Meg, where he won his lone PBA championship back in the 2012 Commissioner's Cup, before being traded to Barako Bull, Ginebra, and Phoenix.
Urbiztondo last played in the PBA for GlobalPort back in 2017, before going overseas to play for the Singapore Slingers in his first ABL campaign.
