JASON Brickman begins a new chapter in his career with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in familiar surroundings as the Philippine side begins its Asean Basketball League (ABL) in Bangkok to face Mono Vampire on Sunday.
The Fil-Am guard resume speaks for itself, but as decorated as he is in the regional league, it's the first time he will represent his homeland.
And how fitting it is that the new page in Brickman's book starts where his old one ended. He spent two-and-a-half years with Mono before being released midway through last season.
He was still with the Thai side when they squared off with Alab in the 2018 ABL Finals.

But Brickman said he is treating the match like any other game.
"I see it as a regular game," he said. "I'm friends with a lot of those guys out there so it's gonna be good to be back and see them, but we want to compete and we want to try to get the win over there."
Alab oach Jimmy Alapag expects a tough outing for this rejigged Alab side as he parades a virtually new team with Brickman and Jeremiah Gray, as well as World Imports Nick King, Adrian Forbes, and Khalif Wyatt leading the way.
"Big test for us to start the season, especially playing on the road and it’s their home opener," he said. "But again, I told the guys after tonight if we play with unselfish mentality like we did tonight and play with that same effort, we’ll give ourselves a chance."
