THE Nanhai Kung Fu Basketball Club beat the Singapore Slingers, 83-59, on Friday in the opening game of the Asean Basketball League at the Nanhai Gymnasium.
Fil-American Caelan Tiongson was one of the key players in Nanhai's win, finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
The 6-foot-4 Tiongson was undrafted in the NBA in 2016 after playing for Biola University.
Anthony Tucker had 31 points and 10 rebounds while former Singapore import Justin Howard chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds as new team Nanhai won its first game in the ABL.
Ryan Wright had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Slingers, while Xavier Alexander added 14 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
Fil-Am AJ Mandani had three points, two rebounds and four assists in his Slingers debut.
