BOBBY Ray Parks Jr. turned 25 on Monday, but says he doesn’t mind getting his birthday gift much later.

What he really wants is a championship with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas.

“Sana mag-champion kami,” Parks said with a smile.

He actually has a lot to celebrate these days.

Alab Pilipinas is on an eight-game winning streak, and is on the way to the ABL playoffs, with the Fil-American guard among the key players in the postseason push.

While he would like to keep playing and sustain the surge, Parks also welcomes the long break, with Alab Pilipinas not seeing action until March 4 in Kuala Lumpur against the Westports Malaysia Dragons.

“It’s good going into the break sa amin to top off the crazy six weeks that we had,” Parks said. “[We] just have to continue building and growing as a team.”

The reigning local MVP noted the importance of staying focused during the long break.

“Kailangan pagbalik namin sa March 4, focus pa rin kami. It’s a big challenge because we are getting days off, being able to rest that is much needed for everybody.”

“It’s a sign of maturity. We have to get ourselves accountable,” Parks said.
