SINGAPORE — Bobby Ray Parks’ injury woes continued on Sunday as he sat out most of the second half of Game One of the Asean Basketball League (ABL) finals after sustaining a sprained right ankle.
Parks, who is in contention for the MVP award in his maiden ABL season, injured his right foot early in the third quarter after a scramble for the ball. He limped back to the bench and didn’t return.
“Sobrang maga daw eh,” said Alab Pilipinas coach Mac Cuan after Parks finished with only four points in Alab's 67-77 loss to the home team Slingers.
The ankle injury is just the latest injury to hound Parks, who also sustained a hip injury in the game against Kaohsiung at the end of the eliminations.
Cuan bared Parks only attended a few practices to give time to heal his injury, which came at a time when Kiefer Ravena began attending practices for Alab Pilipinas.
“We didn’t have a day of practice na kumpleto kami. Ray didn’t practice for three days. He only practiced yesterday (Saturday) with the shootaround,” said Cuan.
