RENALDO Balkman escaped a major injury as he sustained a Grade One ankle sprain during San Miguel Alab Pilipinas' Wednesday match against CLS Knights in the Asean Basketball League.

Team owner Charlie Dy confirmed Balkman suffered the Grade One sprain, considered a mild injury, in which he landed in the foot of a CLS Knights defender.

Dy said it will now be up to Alab Pilipinas coach Jimmy Alapag on whether he will field Balkman in the crucial game on Sunday against the same team at Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
