RENALDO Balkman is set for another tour of duty with Alab Pilipinas as he tries to help the Philippine-based team win back-to-back championship in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
Balkman arrived on Sunday, according to team manager Charlie Dy, and wil start practicing with the ballclub in time for the ninth season of the regional league set to kick off on Nov. 16.
Teaming up with Balkman at Alab is fellow Puerto Rican national player PJ Ramos, the hulking 7-foot-4 one-time import of Columbian Dyip in the PBA.
Balkman played alongside Justine Brownlee in guiding the team to the championship last summer by beating Mono Vampire of Thailand in the decisive Game 5 of the finals.
Brownlee later led Ginebra to the PBA Commissioner's Cup championship by beating Balkman and San Miguel in the finals.
Brownlee however, couldn't commit yet on a return as he's currently playing for Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Governors Cup.
