THE opening home match of Tanduay Alab Pilipinas against Hong Kong Eastern Lions will be free to the public, according to Alab team owner Charlie Dy on his social media account.
The game is set on November 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena at 8 p.m.
The match will feature the first game of the new-look Alab squad that has reigning MVP Bobby Ray Parks joined by veteran players led by Dondon Hontiveros, who is making his ABL debut.
Also making his debut is Jimmy Alapag, who was appointed as head coach of the squad during the offseason. And Dy confirmed to SPIN.ph that they wanted to make their new coach's first game special with this treat to the fans.
"It's our way of welcoming Jimmy and giving back to all our supporters," said Dy.
It's a treat to our supporters. Free tickets. Just check @AlabPilipinas IG FB and Twitter accounts. Thanks @TheOfficialSMDC and @MOAArena pic.twitter.com/tFjlxSkp6s

The game will also mark the Philippine debut of Gilas Pilipinas standout Christian Standhardinger, who will be playing for the visiting Lions this season.
Standhardinger, who was recently the top draft pick made by San Miguel in the PBA, has suited up for Gilas in two international tournaments this year but not yet in front of Filipino basketball fans.
Dy said details for the free tickets will be posted on the team's social media pages.
