ALAB Pilipinas looks to strike its first win in the Asean Basketball League 2017-2018 season against reigning champion Hong Kong Eastern in its first road game on Wednesday night.
The match is scheduled at 8 p.m. at the Southorn Stadium.
Alab is still without a win after two games, the recent loss coming at the expense of the Singapore Slingers, 97-83, last November 29 in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
During the two-week break, Alab Pilipinas played a tune-up game with Meralco in which the ABL side won.
However, expect a tough outing for Alab in its second and final match-up against Hong Kong Eastern, which remained undefeated after three games. Led by Christian Standhardinger, Hong Kong Eastern began the season with a 92-89 win over Alab at the Mall of Asia Arena last November 19.
Standhardinger has been nothing but spectacular in the last two games as he emerged as the Heritage Import Player of the Week. The Fil-German scored 40 points and hauled 17 rebounds in Hong Kong’s win over Mono Vampire.
Also heating up for Hong Kong is Thai-American Tyler Lamb, who hit 30 points in Sunday’s win over the Slingers.
Imports Reggie Okosa and Ivan Johnson, and locals Ray Parks and Josh Urbiztondo are expected to take charge in bagging Alab’s breakthrough win.
