HONG KONG - Alab Pilipinas suffered a resounding beating on the road against Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions, 93-80, on Sunday night in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) at the Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai.
Hong Kong sizzled from three-point land, hitting eight out of 16 attempts in the first half to grab a commanding 55-37 lead that Alab never came close to overhauling.
The Long Lions led by as much as 29 points.
Worse, Alab also committed turnovers while trying to put together a run against the inspired Long Lions, suffering their heaviest defeat of the season.
The loss snapped Alab's three-game winning streak as it dropped to 5-3 (win-loss) as Hong Kong Eastern climbed to solo second place with a 6-2 slate.
