SAN Miguel Alab Pilipinas has signed up Khalif Wyatt as its third World Import for the upcoming 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season.
Team owner Charlie Dy said the Philippine-based team will finally take advantage of the three-imports rule in the regional league by tapping someone who coach Jimmy Alapag described as an 'experienced guard.'
"He gives us an added veteran leadership and another weapon amongst our guard rotation," Alapag said of the 6-4 guad, who is expected to share backcourt chores with new acquisitions Jason Brickman and Jeremiah Gray.
Wyatt, out of Temple, has played for the Springfield Armor in the NBA G-League and also had stops in China and Israel.
Wyatt is currently suiting up for Hapoel Holon, averaging 18.9 points, 5.7 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.0 steals. He will join Alab once his obligations with the Israeli squad ends come November.
Renaldo Balkman and Adrian Forbes have earlier been named as Alab's reinforcements as they aim to reclaim the ABL title this season.
