ALAB Pilipinas opens the 2016-2017 ABL season in grand fashion as it plays its first home game at the Mall of Asia Arena on November 19.
Team owner Charlie Dy made the announcement during the ABL press conference on Tuesday morning.
It will be a first for a Philippine-based ABL team to play a home game at the Mall of Asia Arena as past teams played home games at the Ynares Sports Arena, Philsports Arena, Ynares Center, and San Juan Arena.
In the first ABL game at the Mall of Asia Arena, Alab Pilipinas will take on no less than the reigning champion Hong Kong Eastern, which has on its roster Gilas Pilipinas standout Christian Standhardinger.
Last year, Alab Pilipinas had played in smaller gyms around the country, the farthest in Davao City where they played two home games there.
This season, Dy said the team will do the same and will also be adding Cebu City as a site for a home game.
Dy added Alab Pilipinas will play most of its games in parts of Luzon this year.
