MAKE it seven straight wins for San Miguel Alab Pilipinas as it repeated over Hong Kong Eastern, 96-81 to remain on top of the 2019 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) on Friday night at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai.
Renaldo Balkman pumped in 32 points to go with four rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and a steal as the Philippine side beat Hong Kong for the third time in four meetings this season to improve to 13-2 (win-loss).
Bobby Ray Parks added 23 points, seven boards, an assist, and a steal, while PJ Ramos fell just an assist short of a triple double with his 11-point, 14-rebound, nine-assist performance.
Caelan Tiongson also did his damage with eight points, including the final two layups that capped the victory, on top of two rebounds and two assists, while Ethan Alvano got seven points, six assists, and three rebounds.
With the home team knocking on Alab's door, 75-74, Lawrence Domingo and Josh Urbiztondo ignited a 21-7 windup for the visitors.
Alab, which improved its home record to 3-2, can close out its season series against HK Eastern with another win this Wednesday, still in Wan Chai.
O'Darien Bassett led Hong Kong with 24 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, but exited the game late due to an apparent left foot injury.
Sam Deguara had a better game against Ramos with his 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Marcus Elliott had 18 points, seven boards, and six assists in the defeat that snapped their two-game winning run.
Hong Kong Eastern stayed at fourth place with their 11-9 card.
