Abando's Anyang takes down Abarrientos' side on New Year's eve

RHENZ Abando and Anyang KGC will be the ones to celebrate the new year on a high, taking down RJ Abarrientos' Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 77-68, on Saturday in the 2022-23 KBL season at Anyang Gymnasium.

The Filipino high-flyer only had four points, a rebound, an assist, and a block in eight minutes of play.

But he had the luxury as Anyang got four players in double figures led by Omari Spellman's 16 points, 17 boards, five assists, and three rejections.

Abarrientos, on the other hand, shot 2-of-8 from deep for his 12 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and one steal.

Anyang won its last three games to rise to 19-8, while Ulsan dropped to 15-12 after this second straight defeat.

    SJ Belangel also did not see action in Daegu KOGAS Pegasus' 84-81 escape from Goyang Carrot Jumpers at Goyang Gymnasium.

    Lee Dae-sung led Daegu with 31 points from four treys, as Murphy Holloway got 23 points and 16 boards to push their side to an 11-16 record and snap a six-game skid.
