THE 3x3 Elite League Manila 2019 is slated to begin Saturday with the eliminations held at the Dumlao Sports Center in Mandaluyong City.
Teams from different colleges, universities, clubs, and organizations from Metro Manila and provinces have registered for the tournament with a top prize of $3,000 and a slot in the SINA 3x3 Elite League 2019 at stake in the competition.
Organizers recently moved the opening day of the tournament to Saturday to give students and employees a chance to enter in the competition for aged 18 to 40 years old.
“I’m happy with the turnout of the tournament. The organizers are looking forward to an exciting 3x3 competition as they vie to become the Philippine representative in the SINA 3x3 Elite League 2019,” said tournament commissioner Jerry Codiñera.
The finals of the tournament organized by Mediapro Asia and SINA Sports will be held on Sunday at the Market! Market! in Taguig City with the champion team going to Beijing for an all-expense paid trip and will represent the Philippines in the SINA 3x3 Elite League 2019.
Players in the competition also held in partnership with the National Basketball League (NBL) and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) will also be earning Fiba ranking points which will also reflect in the Philippines’ Fiba 3x3 world rankings, a basis for qualification in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Dasmariñas Ballers Club of JP Rabe, Junard Caparida, Gesmar Isorena, and Roberto Sayawan played in the SINA 3x3 Elite League last year where they played against world-class teams in Liman Tesla Voda of Serbia, Ulaanbaatar of Mongola, and Townsville of Australia.
