THE National Basketball League (NBL)-Pilipinas opens its new conference with the President’s Cup on Sunday at the Amoranto Arena in Quezon City with four of the 10 teams in action.
Eridanus Sta. Rosa and Zambales Constructicons square off in the opener at 4 p.m. followed by the match between Manila MLB and Quezon City Enforcers at 6 p.m.
The new conference saw two new teams in Pangasinan Asinderos and Maximus Bacoor Cavite, and one returning team in Eridanus Sta. Rosa.
President's Cup format
The 10 teams were broken down into two with Governors’ Cup champion Tikas Kapampangan, Camsur Express, Pangasinan Asinderos, Eridanus Sta. Rosa, and Manila MLB comprising Group A; and Taguig Generals, Nueva Ecija Granary Buffalos, Zambales Constructions, Quezon City Enforcers, and Maximus Bacoor Cavite clustered in Group B.
Teams will play their counterparts in their own group once, and the other group twice during the elimination round.

Tikas Kapampangan will look for a repeat after ruling the Governors’ Cup against Taguig Generals in a finals series that went down to the final game with the former winning it, 100-96, on the road last September.
