UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas rallied from a two-run deficit in the ninth inning to repulse defending champion National University, 7-5, on Sunday and grab a share of the lead in the UAAP baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The win hiked the Tigers’ record to 3-0, joining last year’s runner-up Ateneo, which came up with a 14-6 victory over University of the Philippines.
The leaders part ways on Thursday with UST taking on Ateneo in the first game of a tripleheader starting at 7 a.m.
The Bulldogs were handed with their first loss after two straight victories.
La Salle came up with its first win in three tries with a 5-4 squeaker over Adamson.
The Falcons are still winless in three outings.
