Jonash Ponce pushed the only run of a game with a double, scoring Junmar Diarao in the third inning, while starting pitcher Romeo Jasmin struck out seven batters in six and two-third innings.
The win was a follow-up to their 11-0 victory over Pakistan on the first day of competitions to grab the early lead in the standings.
The Filipino batters are looking to secure a place in the top four to advance to the super round for a chance to claim a podium finish.
