THE Philippines beat Hong Kong, 10-0, in seven innings on Thursday to advance to the super round in the 2017 Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) Asian Baseball Championship in New Taipei City.
The win by Philippines assured the squad of at least a fourth place finish in the tournament by advancing to the super round.
Prior to the win against Hong Kong on Thursday, the Filipino batters finished the elimination with a 1-2 win-loss card heading into the super round semifinals.
The Philippines will face Chinese Taipei on Friday night and Korea on Saturday night to determine which nations will play for the championship and the battle-for-third.
