PHILAB captured its second straight crown when it defeated UAAP champion Ateneo, 5-2, on Saturday in the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner’s Cup baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial ballpark.
The Philab Ballbusters scored one and two runs in the sixth and seventh innings respectively to complete a rally after trailing 1-2 at the end of the third.
Philab, composed mainly of national team members, won its back-to-back crown in the PSC-organized baseball tournament after winning the Chairman’s Cup last year.
Philippine Air Force beat University of Santo Tomas, 10-3, in the battle for third place.
