INTERNATIONAL Little League Association of Manila (Illam) overcame Gawad Kalinga Smokey Mountain on Tuesday, 32-1, to stay undefeated in the senior league baseball competitions of the Little League Philippine Series in Marikina City.
Illam, the reigning champion in the senior league, now carries a 2-0 win-loss record following the lopsided victory over Smokey Mountain in Group 2.
In Group 1, Tanauan City also stayed unbeaten after a 21-1 win over Ragay for a similar 2-0 record.
The top two teams in each group in the senior league will advance to the crossover semifinals.
In big league baseball action, reigning titlist Muntinlupa beat Quezon City, 23-1, to bounce back from an 11-0 loss to Tanauan on Monday.
Tanauan, however, remained on top of the standings after a 20-4 win over Antipolo in the seven-team tournament.
