Rogine Sola upset No. 8 Christian Uy, 10-21, 21-12, 23-21.
Jan Mark Sotea stunned sixth seed Jayson Oba-ob, 14-21, 21-17, 21-19, in the men’s Open, while Melvin Sarao outsteadied No. 7 Isaac Orellano, 21-18, 22-20.
Airom Punongbayan edged top seed Ronald Ongcuangco, 18-21, 26-24, 21-13, in the boys’ Under-15 division of the tournament backed by the Philippine Olympic Committee, the Philippine Sports Commission and Victor.
