PHILIPPINE Badminton Association (PBA) Smash Pilipinas will participate in the Malaysia Masters and the Granular Thailand Junior International starting next week.
Joper Escueta and Ronel Estanislao will play in the men’s doubles along with Peter Gabriel Magnaye and Alvin Morada in the Malaysia Masters in Penang from January 19 to 24.
Marky Alcala and Keeyan Gabuelo, meanwhile, will compete in the boys’ singles of the Granular Junior International in Bangkok also from January 19 to 24.
“The Malaysia Masters and the Granular junior tournaments will provide our players the exposure and the experience they need,” said the Philippine team’s Indonesian coach Paulus Firman.
“We just have to win as many games as we can,” he added.
“We are hoping to start the year with two competitive international tournaments which I’m pretty sure will help our players,” said PBA secretary general Albee Benitez.
