THE FDG Cup celebrates a major milestone from June 17 to June 21 when it holds its 20th-anniversary tournament with another banner field and the presence of some of the greats in badminton led by the legendary Lin Dan.
The FDG Cup 2026 once again gathers some of the best players in the country and world-class international athletes to celebrate its rise from modest beginnings in 2004 into the Philippines' longest-running premier badminton tournament.
No less than 715 players are set to compete in the Open tournament and 256 in the Invitational over five action-packed days that will have the eliminations up to the quarterfinals being played at Upper Deck Sports Center in Ortigas, Pasig City and the final-day matches at the Opus Mall in Bridgetowne.

Lin Dan, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champion regarded as the GOAT of the sport, headlines the guests that also include former world No. 1 Yuki Fukushima and former world No. 2 Chiharu Shida, both of Japan.
The three will play an exhibition game on Saturday (June 21) at Opus Mall with Secretary Frederick Go, whose love for the sport of badminton and continued support has spurred this tournament to great heights.
The prize money in the Open tournament are as follows:

Clarence Villaflor is the top seed in the men's tournament followed by Enrico Keonie Asuncion at No. 2, followed by three Malaysian entries in Samuel Lee, Darrel Sen Xian Chew, and Muhammad Haziq, in that order.
The tournament will adopt the new BWF scoring system (3x15 format) and is integrated with the Philippine National Ranking System (PNRS).
