THE MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) kicks off its third season on May 3 with Pampanga hosting the country’s ace shuttlers and rising stars at the Excel Badminton Center in San Fernando.
Registration is ongoing with deadline set on April 19. The draw is set April 26 at the PBaRS office.
PBaRS is the country’s only ranking badminton tournament, sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association headed by Vice President Jejomar Binay with sportsman Manny V. Pangilinan as chairman and Rep. Albee Benitez as sec-gen.

Meanwhile, the Asuncion Badminton Center launched its summer training program last Monday.
All participants will play in the first summer trainees tournament on April 28.
The second batch will be held April 24 to May 20 (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and from April 25 to May 21 (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) classes with the weeklong training slated April 24 to May 21.
The third batch is set May 22-May 31 (MWF), May 23-June 1 (TTHS), with the weeklong training set May 22-June 1. The second summer trainees tournament will be played June 2.
Toby Gadi and Bianca Carlos, who swept the premier Open singles titles last year, are expected to banner the field again in the five-day tournament sponsored by MVP Sports Foundation and backed by Gatorade, Vineza, Sincere Construction, Victor Pcome Industrial Sales and Krav Maga Philippines with TV 5, The Philippine Star and Badminton Extreme Philippines Magazine as media partners.
