RODIL Quilab and Mereeis Ramirez ruled Sunday’s the 21-kilometer Dumaguete elimination race of the 37th National Milo Marathon.
The 22-year old Quilab finished the half-marathon distance in one hour, 15 minutes and 5 seconds followed by Riez Enriquez in 1:15:33 and Romulo Jr. Balinas in 1:16:31.
Quilab, a student at Iligan City Technological Institute Polytechnic College, placed second in the Kagay-an Festival Marathon last year and third in the 2011 Cagayan de Oro Dahilayan Trail 55K Ultra Marathon.
Ramirez dominated the women’s division with a time of 1:37:57, beating Iresh Belleza (1:48:01) and Nelfa Bayonado (1:52:10).
Aside from Quilab and Ramirez, 12 other runners qualified for National Finals.
Milo is also helping kids improve in sports and in life by giving away athletic shoes during the elimination legs.
The next elimination race is set on in Tagbilaran on September 15, before races in Cebu (September 22), Cagayan de Oro (September 29), Butuan (October 6), Davao (October 13), General Santos (October 20), Baguio (November 3), Dagupan (November 10), Tarlac (November 17) and Angeles (November 24). The 37th Milo Marathon National Finals is set December 8 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.
