THE Philippine wrestling team took the overall crown in the Olympic Day Celebration on Saturday at the PhilSports track oval.
The wrestling squad had 40 points after ruling three events in the obstacle course, vortex javelin throw, and mixed medley relay in the competition organized by the Philippine Olympic Committee and Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association.
The karatedo national team placed second with 27 points after ruling two events - the 4x100m mixed and tug-of-war, followed by the canoe kayak/dragon boat team with 23 points after taking the 3k team run.
Twenty-one teams from other national teams, schools, media and other organizations participated in the Olympic Day Celebration to commemorate the Olympic Games and promote camaraderie among the teams.
Modified track and field events were held to suit other national team members from other sports and other organizations.
