LOOKING to light up children’s lives, the Energizer Night Race 2015 is focusing on having runners work together for a cause instead of battling for individual titles and personal records.
“There would be no winner,” Energizer senior brand manager Claire Guevarra said of the open distance running event, noting that Patients of Bantay Bata 163 are the true winners of the race that fires off at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Filinvest City in Alabang.
“This time we would do it for a cause for Bantay Bata because we want to encourage people to run for Bantay Bata.”
For every three kilometer that a runner would cover, event organizers will donate 100 pesos to charity, and P1 million is expected to be raised by the 3,000 participants.
“We go extra mile and we want to give this run an opening to have that kind of value for these children. This is our way to light up children’s lives,” Guevarra added.
It is the seventh edition of the race and the organizers are pleased to offer something different this time.
“It’s actually a two-hour open loop run. So you can run as long as you want or as far as you can go within the two-hour duration,” Guevarra explained.
After the race, participants and gests will be treated to a show featuring Itchyworms, Up Dharma Down and Yeng Constantino.
