EJ OBIENA topped his first gold in an outdoor event for the 2026 season when he ruled the Czeslaw Cybulski Memorial in Poznan, Poland.
Obiena cleared 5.72 meters to annex the gold medal over Owen Heard of Great Britain (5.60) and Matteo Oliveri of Italy (5.60) in the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event.
His clearance is .06 meters short of his season best of 5.78 he hit during the ISTAF Indoor 2026 in Berlin.
Obiena hit the 5.72-mark on his second attempt with Heard failing to clear the same height to concede the victory to the Filipino pole vaulter.
Obiena failed to clear 5.82 meters in his attempt to register a new season best.
