EJ OBIENA returned to the European circuit with a second-place finish in the Wanda Diamond League Monaco.

Obiena cleared 5.82 meters to take the second spot behind Christopher Nilsen of the United States in his first competition since capturing the gold medal in the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok.
It also came after Obiena rose to the world rankings to second, overtaking Nilsen in the tally.
Kurtis Marshall of Australia also registered 5.82 meters but finished third on the countback.
Mondo Duplantis of Sweden, who remained as the world No. 1 in the men’s pole vault, inexplicably struggled in the competition, placing just fourth with a 5.72.
