EJ Obiena bagged the pole vault silver medal in the Meeting de Sotteville in France, clearing 5.72 meters in his first competition since clinching a berth in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Obiena placed second behind Kurtis Marschall of Australia after he cleared 5.95 meters.

The Filipino pole vaulter was fresh from posting a 5.82-meter mark in the Wanda Diamond League Stockholm that secured him a spot in the Olympics.
Obiena reached the 5.72-m mark in France on the first try but couldn't progress, failing to clear 5.87 and 5.92.
