EJ OBIENA began his 2026 season with a bronze medal at the ISTAF Indoor Dusseldorf in Germany.
Obiena cleared 5.65 meters on his fifth jump of the competition, then settled for third spot after failing to clear the bar at 5.70.

Menno Vloom of Netherlands captured the gold with 5.75 followed by Sam Kendricks of United States with 5.70.
It was Obiena’s first competition since wresting the gold medal in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok last December.

After the SEA Games, Obiena continued his training in the Philippines even during the holidays in preparation for the 2026 season where he is out to improve on his performance from last year.
