EJ OBIENA leads the Philippine team that will compete in the World Athletics Indoor Championships from March 20 to 22 in Poland.
Obiena and fellow Olympian John Cabang Tolentino, Jessica Laurance, and Zion Corrales Nelson met the entry standards for the indoor competition.

Obiena will be in action in the pole vault, while Tolentino will be competing in the men’s 60m hurdles.
Laurance and Nelson, on the other hand, clinched berths in the women’s 60m.
Obiena made the cut as No. 12 ranked pole-vaulter in the world.
Tolentino clocked 7.70 seconds in the 60m hurdles in the Spanish Indoor Clubs Championships in Valencia, surpassing the 7.65 qualifying standard.
Laurance timed 7.20 seconds last February in an Australia competition to also clinch a berth in the World Indoors while Nelson registered 7.37 seconds at a Reno, Nevada, USA meet - equalling or surpassing the 7.20 qualifying standard.
