BERNALYN Bejoy bagged a silver medal in the 400m hurdles in the 13th Southeast Asian Youth Championship in Bangkok.
The sprinter from Bacolod clocked 1:03.17, finishing behind Arisa Weruwanarak of Thailand (1:02.53)
Bejoy also bagged a bronze in the 800m run with a clocking of 2:14.45 behind runners from Vietnam and Timor Leste.
She joined Lealyn Sanita, Samantha Gem Limos and Tara Borlain in bagging the bronze in the 4x400 with a time of 4:06.93. Thailand clocked 3:50.74, while Vietnam timed 3:59.62.
Jason Jabol bagged bronze in the long jump with a leap of 6.47 meters. Thuong Duc Nguyen of Vietnam won gold with a 6.70-m leap, and Athibodee Aonthonyai of Thailand leapt 6.57 for silver.
The Philippines finished seventh in the overall standings with host Thailand in first place with 15-7-11 (gold-silver-bronze). Vietnam was second (13-14-5) followed by Malaysia (6-2-3), Singapore (3-4-4) and Indonesia (1-6-5). Timor Leste went 0-4-4.
