WHAT do volleyball darling Alyssa Valdez, cage star LA Tenorio, and lovely netter Tin Patrimonio all have in common?
Along with seven others, all three have been named part of the local team serving as ambassadors of USANA Health Services (NYESE: USNA), the global manufacturer of nutritional, high-quality supplements and personal care products.
Launched as Team USANA Pilipinas, the group is composed of Filipino athletes who have been using the supplements and are part of the company’s global Athlete Program.
Other members of Team USANA Pilipinas are world pool champion Rubilen Amit, golfer Abe Avena, celebrated car racer Gaby Dela Merced, popular taekwondo jins Janice Lagman and Japoy Lizardo, volleyball player Neil Flores, and Davis Cupper PJ Tierro.
USANA’s Athlete Program is the company’s way of boosting the athleticism of teams and individuals worldwide, while simultaneously inspiring everyone to pursue and sustain good health.
World-renowned members of the USANA Athlete Program include Olympic gold medalists Tyler McGill (swimming) and Meaghan Mikkelson (hockey), and former World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (boxing), among others.
“It has always been our mission to inspire everyone and provide them the means to boost and sustain good health,” said USANA Philippines general manager Aurora 'Duday' Gaston during the launch on Monday at The Enterprise Center in Makati.
“As we formally launch Team USANA Pilipinas, we aim to drive the well-being and competitiveness not only of Filipino athletes, but also the Filipinos in general, as they strive for success in their respective fields.”
With the prevalent issues on doping and utilization of banned substance that boost one’s athletic performance, Gaston also noted USANA understands that nutritional products must not jeopardize the athletes’ credibility in his/her respective field.
