INCHEON, South Korea — The Philippine men’s compound team fell short of a bronze medal when they bowed to Iran, 227-224, on Saturday in the archery competitions of the Asian Games at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery field.
Ian Chipeco, Paul Merton de la Cruz, and Earl Benjamin Yap lost to Esmaeil Ebadi, Majid Gheidi, and Amir Kazempour in close fashion to fell short of a bronze medal.
Chipeco, Dela Cruz, and Yap’s loss came days after nearly stunning powerhouse Korea in the semifinal round.
