PAUL Marton Dela Cruz won the country’s first gold in the 2018 Asia Cup-Stage 2 archery competition on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
Dela Cruz ruled the individual compound men with a 704 score. The 2014 Asian Games bronze medalist actually tied with Lin Che-Wei of Chinese Taipei but had more arrows in the 10 and X rings, 57-46, at the a makeshift archery range at the baseball playing field.
Wei Huang of China bagged the bronze with a 697.
Joseph Vicencio finished seventh, Earl Benjamin Yap was 10th and Barbin Dranoel was 19th.
