Eight Filipino triathletes to take part in prestigious Challenge Roth race

EIGHT Filipinos will compete in one of the most prestigious and largest triathlon events in the world - the DATEV Challenge Roth which kicks off in Germany on Sunday.

The Philippine contingent will join 3,500 participants and 650 relay teams from more than 60 nations at the triathlon stadium in southern Germany.

Competing in the “Race the Legend” Male-30, -35, -40 and -45 age groups are Yellow Cab-Tri Clark members Jeremy David, Alan Galang, Michael Mandap, Rene Tayag and John Villanueva; TTCT's Jeffrey Laguitao; Meinardo Opiana of Smart Tri Team; and Juliann Tayag of Angeles City.

Yellow Cab-Tri Clark team is a Pampanga-based group of professionals and business executives who are into multi-sport and actively promoting the former Clark US base and Angeles City as a venue for athletic training and entertainment tourism.

Aside from Ironman Events around the world which includes the Cobra 70.3 in Camsur, Ironman 70.3 Singapore, Ironman Malaysia, the group has also sent members to the 70.3 Ironman World Championship at Clearwater, Florida and the Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii.
