Rolland gets back from crash to win Stage 11

PIERRE ROLAND got back from a crash to take stage honors,  while Bradley Wiggins extended his overall lead in Stage 11 of the Tour de France.

Rolland crashed on a tight left-hander of the final descent 26 kilometers left in the 148-km stage, but quickly got back to catch the break with 22 km left and worked on a solo ride to the finish in La Toussuire - Les Sybelles.

The 25-year-old Frenchman clocked four hours, 43 minutes and 54 seconds on Friday (Manila time), while Bradley Wiggins checked in just 57 seconds off in sixth place to extend his lead in the overall individual classification.

Chris Froome finished third, 55 seconds off the stage winner, to take second spot in the overall standings, 2:05 behind Wiggins.

Last year’s champion Cadel Evans was 11th for the day, crossing the finish line 2:23 off the pace and slipped to fourth overall, 3:19 behind Wiggins.
