Chance for Ronda champ Valenzuela to train with Tour de France team in Europe
Ronda Pilipinas winner Irish Valenzuela will be gifted by his main benefactor with the LPGMA American Vinyl team, Congressman Arnel Ty, with a rare opportunity to train with Liquigaz's Pool B in Europe. Liquigaz's top cyclists compete regularly in the Tour de France.

FOLLOWING his long-overdue conquest of the Ronda Pilipinas crown, Irish Valenzuela is set to be gifted with a cycling scholarship that will give him the rare opportunity to train with a Tour de France team.

No less than Valenzuela‘s benefactor with the LPGMA American Vinyl team, Congressman Arnel Ty, bared his gift to his star rider after his conquest of this year's multi-stage bicycle race.

The soft-spoken sportsman said he is set to take up an offer from officials of Liquigaz in Italy regarding Valenzuela’s training with the Tour de France side's Pool B which might take place next year.

Ty has connections with the Italian-based company being the head of the Liquified Petroleum Gas Marketers’ Association, which imports gas from Liquigaz of Europe.

Training camp for Liquigaz's Pool B normally usually takes place from January to March.

“Aayusin ko na yung application niya for training para mabigyan pa (si Valenzuela) ng mas magandang preparasyon," said Ty.

"May provision talaga kami sa Liquigaz, matagal na nila kaming sinabihan na pwede kaming magpadala ng rider para i-train ng Pool B nila."

And being the newly crowned champion of the Ronda Pilipinas, the 25-year-old Valenzuela has better credentials to flaunt when he starts his road schooling with Liquigaz, Ty said.

“Sana maraming matutunan si Irish dun, hopefully mapansin na rin siya run (Italy)”, said Ty.

Valenzuela crowned himself as this year’s Ronda Pilipinas champion with an aggregate clocking of 55 hours 18 minutes and 52 seconds after 16 stages and more than 2,000 kilometers of the island-hopping odyssey on wheels.
