THE Isla ng Catanduanes Ultramarathon returns for its second edition with a two-day race beginning on Friday in the island province.

Following the success of the first edition last year, the event is expected to draw 120 participants for the competition in the 65-kilometer and 110-km divisions.

The race will take off from Virac Plaza Rizal and will see the runners traversing rural roads in the towns of Virac, San Andres, Bato, and Baras.

Last year, a total of 90 runners participated in the race, most of them in the 65km category designed for first-timers in long-distance races.
