ARELLANO University got its sweet revenge after beating defending champion College of St. Benilde, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, in the NCAA Season 92 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Chiefs, who were eliminated by the Lady Blazers in the step ladder semifinals, leaned on Rialen Sante, Jovielyn Prado and Erica Calixto. Sante poured in 15 points, while Prado and Calixto added 13 and 10 markers, respectively.

AU coach Obet Javier admitted that defeating CSB finally relieved them from the pain of the past.

"One year naming dinamdam 'yun (talo namin sa semis), so talagang naging motivation sa amin 'yun, naging aral sa amin," he said.

The Lady Chiefs romped to its sixth straight win and improved to a 6-1 record, behind undefeated San Sebastian College (6-0), while the Lady Blazers dropped to 5-2.

Ranya Musa and Jan Daguil combined for 23 points for CSB.

Meanwhile in the men's division, College of St. Benilde came from a set down to deny Arellano University, 23-25, 25-16, 29-27, 25-20, and secured a spot in the Final Four.

John Vic De Guzman took the scoring load for CSB with 25 points built on 22 kills, while Isaah Arda had 18. Francis Basilan added 10 as the Blazers bagged their seventh straight win in eight outings to tighten their grip on the top spot.

John Cabillan finished with 15 points for AU while skipper Benrasid Latip added 14. The Chiefs absorbed their second loss in seven games

In the juniors play, the Braves defeated the listless Junior Blazers, 25-18, 25-8, 25-19.

AU improved to 4-1 while keeping CSB-La Salle Greenhills winless in five games.
