Mark Alfafara makes it to PH men's team lineup after Acaylar change of heart

JOHNVIC De Guzman and Mark Gil Alfafara head the list of 18 players making up the 2017 Philippine national men's volleyball team.

De Guzman and Alfafara were joined by Relan Taneo, Geuel Asia, Bryan Bagunas, Alnakran Abdilla, Alden Dave Cabaron, Reyson Fuentes, Jeff Malabanan, Bonjomar Castel, Hershel Ramos, Jack Kalingking, Louwie Chavez, Edward Camposano, Gregorio Dolor, John Kenneth Sarcena, John Carscal, and Peter John Quiel.

The formal announcement was made on Friday at the Arellano University-Pasay campus.

De Guzman was a shoo-in after being named team captain way before the 18-man team was formally announced.

Alfafara, meanwhile, made it despite being earlier ruled out of consideration by head coach Sammy Acaylar after missing Monday's Clash of Heroes exhibition match.
