Jaja Santiago reveals getting offers to play for national women's basketball team
Jaja Santiago says her dribbling and shooting skills are decent, but admits she has no experience playing organized basketball.

A DARE from Foton teammates prompted Jaja Santiago to show off her basketball skills in a video that has since gone viral on Tuesday.

In one of the Tornadoes' practice, the 6-foot-5 do-it-all hitter effortlessly dunked in a standard basketball goal using a volleyball. A video of the dunk, taken by Jaja's elder sister and Foton team manager Diane, has gone viral after SPIN.ph shared the story.

When SPIN.ph finally got in touch with her, Jaja, 21, revealed she pulled off the dunk after she was egged on by Foton teammates.

She in fact was going for a third dunk but Foton coach Moro Branislav stepped in.

"Masaya naman pero (ginagawa ko lang) kapag inaasar lang ako ng team to do it," said Jaja.

Because of her height and athleticism race for someone her size, Santiago has inevitably attracted interest from basketball teams.

Santiago admitted she was once recruited to play for basketball by National University, where she stars for the volleyball team, as well as the national team.

This was during the time she was preparing to join the Lady Bulldogs out of high school, Jaja added.

However, Jaja has shown little interest, saying her heart belongs to volleyball.

"Ayaw ko po i-grab. Minsan nagbibiro ako na magdu-dual sports ako pero it's just a joke, kasi hindi ko nakikita ang sarili ko playing basketball," said Jaja.

Santiago said her dribbling and shooting skills are decent, but admitted she has no experience playing organized basketball.
