EAC survives scare against winless JRU to get back on win track in NCAA men's volleyball

EMILIO Aguinaldo College survived a thrilling battle against Jose Rizal University, 26-24, 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 16-14, to bounce back on the win track in the NCAA Season 93 men’s volleyball tournament on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.

Joshua Mina made 18 points for EAC, while Paulo Lim and Christopher Ilano Jr. added 15 and 11 markers, respectively.

The Generals, who came from a five-setloss to Arellano University, improved to 2-1.

Skipper Patrick Rabaja finished with 21 points for JRU, while Hernan Salazar chipped in 17, Wenjo Lahaylahay made 15 and Patrick Sulivas contributed 10.

JRU had more attack points (58-53) and was more effective on net defense (11-6 blocks) but was too careless (48-36 errors).

The Bombers remained winless in three matches.
