ALYSSA Valdez is looking to raise the bar when she makes her debut with 3BB Nakornnont in the Thai League on January 29.

The former Ateneo star will find familiar faces on foreign soil as she reunites with her former Bureau of Customs teammates Kanjana Kuthaisong and Nattanicha Jaisaen at the Thai club, but will have to wait four months before playing on home soil again.

The pride of San Juan, Batangas will fly to Thailand on Sunday for the second round of the Thai League and she will stay there until the second week of April for the Thai-Denmark Super League.

Her stint in Thailand will keep her out of the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference, which kicks off in March, but Valdez kept the door open to playing in the V-League once she returns.

“’Yun nga din, well I think naiintindihan din naman nila (V-League) ang schedule so I guess if aabot or may team din na willing tanggapin ako kahit may mga ganoong circumstances, okay naman ‘yun sa akin. Pero then again if wala naman, okay lang din sa akin,” she said.

Valdez’s contract with BoC has already expired and she’s open to any offers.

However, the 23-year old former three-time UAAP MVP stressed that she’s wouldn’t want to leave any team hanging.

“Basta no matter what kung aabot ako o hindi ako aabot, kung may willing magpalaro sa akin, basta kung kaya lalaro naman talaga ako here,” she said.
